Frequently Asked Questions
What is a sound bath?
A sound bath is a meditative experience where you’re “bathed” in healing frequencies created by instruments such as crystal singing bowls, ocean drums, and chimes. The vibrations help guide your mind and body into a deeply relaxed state, allowing your nervous system to naturally reset and restore balance.
What can I expect during a session?
Each experience begins with a short guided grounding or intention-setting practice. You’ll then rest comfortably (often lying down) while Ashley creates a layered soundscape designed to promote relaxation, clarity, and connection. Many guests report feeling peaceful, recharged, and emotionally lighter afterward.
What do I need to bring?
Comfort is key. Wear loose, comfortable clothing. For group sound baths in studio, bring a yoga mat, pillow, and blanket if desired (exception is at Ascend Spiritual Center, all necessary props are provided). For AirBnB sound baths, there are usually ample blankets and pillows around the space, I highly recommend gathering them all and creating the ultimate slumber party vibe!
If the session is held at your Airbnb or private space, ensure there’s enough room for your group to lie down comfortably.
How long is a sound bath?
Most private and group sound baths last 60 minutes, though sessions can be tailored to fit your event. Cacao + Sound Journeys are 90 minutes, and extended wellness or retreat experiences can be customized.
Who leads the sound baths?
All experiences are facilitated by Ashley Cohagen, founder of Innerbloom Sound. Ashley is a trauma-informed sound healing practitioner and former critical care nurse, blending science-backed understanding of the nervous system with intuitive sound therapy and somatic guidance.
Do you offer mobile or in-home sessions?
Yes. Innerbloom Sound offers sound bath house calls throughout Sedona and surrounding areas. Ashley brings everything needed—including instruments and ambiance—so you can enjoy a restorative experience right in your home, Airbnb, or private venue.
Can I book a sound bath for a special occasion?
Absolutely. Sound baths are a beautiful addition to bachelorette parties, birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, and wellness retreats. Each session can be customized to your group’s theme or intention, such as grounding, heart-opening, celebration, or emotional release.
Do you offer corporate wellness sessions?
Yes. Ashley partners with businesses, retreat centers, and wellness resorts to provide corporate and group sound healing experiences that promote stress reduction, focus, and team cohesion.
What is a cacao ceremony and can it be added to a sound bath?
Ceremonial cacao is a warm, heart-opening beverage shared with intention. It promotes mindfulness, emotional balance, and connection—making it a beautiful complement to sound healing.
Cacao and alcohol should not be combined, and participants who are pregnant or taking antidepressants should refrain from consuming cacao but are still welcome to join the session.
Is sound healing safe for everyone?
Yes, sound healing is generally safe for most people. However, those with severe sound sensitivity, epilepsy, or pacemakers should consult with their healthcare provider before attending. All experiences are trauma-informed and facilitated with care to create a safe, supportive environment.
